Mice homozygous for a knock-out allele show no detectable alterations in T-cell development, selection and activation; however, mutant T cells exhibit a delay in the execution of programmed cell death induced by intrinsic stimuli downstream of caspase-3 activation and phosphatidylserine exposure.
