Homozygous mutation of this gene results in embryonic lethality around E9.5-E12.5. Mutant embryos are developmentally delayed. Conditional deletion in germ cells results in infertility and arrest of meiosis. Mice carrying the p.K182R mutation present with increased dexamethasone-induced insulin resistance and insulin levels and reduced dex-induced glucose tolerance.
