Homozygous null mutants are smaller than normal with a defect in cell proliferation and increased susceptibility to fungal infection. Homozygosity for a phosphoblocking or phosphomimetic allele leads to decreased and increased susceptibility to developing head and neck squamous cell carcinoma, respectively.
