Mice homozygous for a knock-out allele exhibit decreased MEF proliferation and transformation and increased pre-weaning lethality. Mice heterozygous for the allele exhibit increased total body fat amount, increased startle reflex, increased grip strength and increased circulating HDL cholesterol.
