Mice homozygous for a knock-out allele show complete embryonic lethality between implantation and somite formation. Mice homozygous for a floxed allele activated in oocytes exhibit reduced female fertility associated with defective spindle assembly checkpoint, premature chromosome segregation, and accelerated anaphase and polar body extrusion.
