Homozygous null mice exhibit early embryonic lethality. Heterozygotes exhibit loss of renal function over time, glomerular hyperfiltration, proteinuria, increased renal inflammation and fibrosis with age. Mice homozygous for an ENU-induced mutation exhibit cardiovascular defects, anopthalmia, renal dysplasia, and craniofacial anomalies.
