Homozygous mice expressing a protein lacking exon 3 show increased susceptibility to induced colitis and colitis-associated colorectal cancer. Mice show an increase in bacailli and decrease in A. muciniphila in the microflora and exacerbated high-fat diet-induced steatohepatitis.
