Qprt 基因表型（MGI）

Mice homozygous for a null allele exhibit abnormal mitochondrial morphology and physiology in peritoneal macrophages and increased proinflammatory cytokines under basal and LPS-stimulated conditions. Mice homozygous for a different null allele show decreased food intake and body weight, lower active forms of niacin concentration in blood and tissues, loss of the inner circular layer of smooth muscle cells in the small intestine, and do not excrete nicotinamide and its catabolites when fed a nicotinic acid-free diet. Brain samples from adult heterozygous males show decreased corpus callosum and brain internal capsule size.
