Mice homozygous for a knock-out allele exhibit digit anomalies including metatarsal osteomas and polysyndactyly, tendon calcification, and abnormalities on the deltoid tuberosity of the humerus. Male mice also show aberrations in food intake, decreased leukocyte count, and subfertility associated with decreased testis weight, oligozoospermia, sharply kinked sperm flagella, and mispositioning of the sperm annulus into the principle piece.
