Mice homozygous for a knock-out allele exhibit nonfatal embryonic hemorrhage and enhanced ischemia-induced neovascularization. Mice homozygous for a different knock-out allele show increased fasting plasma triglyceride and free fatty acid levels and altered white adipocyte lipolysis.
