Mice homozygous for a knock-out allele show decreased daily sperm production and progressive sperm motility, abnormal spermatozoa with backward-curved heads or bent midpieces, and male subfertility. Mice homozygous for a different knock-out allele show a decreased inflammatory response to IL-17A administration and decreased susceptibility to experimental psoriasis but not to experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis.
